My Story
I've always been fascinated by how the world works.
As a kid, I spent countless hours exploring creeks, hiking through the mountains, turning over rocks, and asking "Why?" Why do rivers curve? How are mountains formed? What lived here millions of years ago? The more I learned, the more I realized that every answer seemed to lead to another great question.
That curiosity eventually became a career in science, where I've had the opportunity to study water, landscapes, and the natural systems that shape our world. But somewhere along the way, I discovered another passion—helping children experience that same excitement of discovery.
Writing children's books allows me to combine both of those passions.
Through every story, I hope to show young readers that science isn't just something found in classrooms or textbooks. It's all around us—in the forests we hike, the streams we splash through, the fossils beneath our feet, the stars above our heads, and the incredible living world we share.
My goal isn't simply to teach facts. It's to spark curiosity, encourage exploration, and help children realize that asking questions can lead to amazing adventures.
Why I Write
Children are born explorers.
They notice the little things adults often overlook. They ask fearless questions. They imagine possibilities without worrying whether they're "right."
I believe books should celebrate that spirit.
The Explore With Me: Junior Series was created to invite children into the world of science through wonder, storytelling, and hands-on discovery. Rather than simply giving answers, I hope each book inspires readers to look a little closer, ask one more question, and discover something new about the world around them.
If a child finishes one of my books excited to head outside, visit a museum, read another book, or simply ask "What happens next?" then I've accomplished exactly what I hoped to do.
Beyond the Books
When I'm not writing, you'll usually find me doing many of the same things that inspire my stories—exploring the outdoors, learning something new, or diving into another fascinating question about how our world works.
Whether it's rivers, forests, volcanoes, oceans, fossils, or the night sky, I believe there's always something incredible waiting to be discovered.
That sense of wonder continues to shape every book I write and every new adventure River Rabbits Publishing creates.
